Pablo Cortazzo

Artistic Director / Choreographer

Pablo Cortazzo is an artistic director, producer, Argentine tango choreographer, and dancer with a long career across Argentina, Europe and the Americas — most notably in Brazil, where in 2025 he received a Voto de Congratulações from the Legislative Assembly of Minas Gerais, granted through its Culture Committee: one of the country’s most prestigious recognitions of artistic work.

His practice draws on the traditional roots of tango dance — the embrace, the precision, the musicality — and threads them through with contemporary elements, giving rise to a stage language of his own that carries tango from the social floor to the theatre.
As an artistic director and choreographer, he is the author of Kueyen, a tango dance-theatre work, and directed and performed Mi Buenos Aires querido, a creation by the musician Javier Amoretti.

His work as a movement director has taken him to some of the United Kingdom’s most notable venues, with credits including Folk (Hampstead Theatre), Super Chef’s (Brixton House) and You Belong Here (Southbank Centre).

He currently collaborates actively with Sadler’s Wells through the Tango Sur collective, alongside Anna Alvarez.
